Nashville Scene’s “The Boner Awards” Cover Story

Every year, the Scene releases their Boner Awards - affectionately named after Bill Boner, mayor from 1987 to 1991 - cataloging all the dumb shit people in Nashville have done over the course of the year. As you can imagine, the 2020 awards were particularly beefy. They asked for a cover inspired by the Animal House movie poster, focused on the notorious Fashion House Superspreader Party that went viral a couple of months ago. They gave me a list of events/people to include, then released me to draw pretty much whatever I wanted (yes, a horrified Waldo is hiding in there too...) I sourced a lot of the characters from actual pics and videos from the party, which was fun and felt a bit sneaky… You can read the Boner Awards article here.
